Kate Zoellner
Education, Human Sciences, and Psychology Librarian, Assessment Coordinator, Assistant Professor
Maureen and Mike Mansfield Library | University of Montana | Missoula, Montana

I work as part of the Information & Research Services Division (IRSD) of the Mansfield Library to provide reference and instruction to all library users. I serve as the library liaison to the College of Education and Human Sciences (Communicative Sciences & Disorders, Counselor Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership and Health & Human Performance departments) and the Department of Psychology. I work with faculty in my liaison departments to develop the Library's print and electronic collections, to integrate library instruction into their courses and to provide other library services that address student and faculty research, teaching and learning needs. As the Assessment Coordinator I coordinate assessment initiatives within the IRSD and serve as a member of the library's Assessment Services Group. I faciliate the library's outreach to area high schools, too.

If you are a student, I can guide you through searching and finding items in the library building, online in the library's 100+ electronic databases, and on the free web; explain the research process; help you evaluate information, cite your sources, and manage your research, and more.

If you are a faculty member or staff, I can provide tailored library instruction for your classes, assist your students with the research process, assist with your research, help you utilize the Library's services, and more. See the library's information literacy curriculum for details on the concepts and skills addressed in library instruction.

If you are looking for research guides check my LibGuides or email me.

Five Things You Don’t Know About Me
1. My library books are always overdue.
2. I was once a Girl Scout, soccer player and hyperactive.
3. There are many skills I aspire to have! I would love to be a statistician and Excel-wiz. And a creative writer, letterpress printer and quilter. Also, a fluent speaker of Finnish, German and Spanish. I’d like to be able to play the guitar, too.
4. I grew up in Park Ridge, Illinois, a Chicago suburb and former home of Hillary Rodham Clinton, Harrison Ford and Richard Nickel, as well as the location of the historic Pickwick Theater.
5. Since moving to Montana in 2005, I’ve become an avid cross-country skier and gardener.
